Ponsbourne Park Wedding Photography Herts
May 3, 2010 on 2:13 pm | In Wedding Features | No CommentsYesterday I photographed a wedding for Laura and Del at the Ponsbourne Park Hotel near Cheshunt in Hertfordshire.

Being a bank holiday weekend the weather had gone from being really warm and sunny to quite cold, windy and very wet. Unfortunately the weather is the one thing that you cannot guarantee so you always need a contingency plan for these conditions. I met up with the bride and took some getting ready shots.

I then caught up with the guys who were also getting ready in the hotel.

It was then time for the ceremony and I took my position up front to capture the expression throughout.

There was a very brief break in the rain so I convinced the guests to pop outside for one big group shot before the rain continued.

The Ponsbourne Park Hotel has a stone gazebo which makes the perfect location for group shots in wet weather conditions providing the natural backdrop without getting wet.

Des the Toastmaster was a great help during the group shots with regards to people organisation which is always made a little more difficult on wet weddings. It was then time for the wedding breakfast and then the speeches.

After the speeches had finished I noticed that the rain had finally stopped and asked the bride and groom if they would like to venture out and take some of the shots we had discussed before the wedding utilising the grounds.

The guests took the opportunity of the weather to come out have some portraits taken.

It was then time for the cutting of the cake and ofcourse the first dance.

I took a few more special shots before my day was complete.

As I was driving away from the venue I had to stop the car and take this last photo. I had great fun at Laura and Del’s wedding and wish them every success in their new life together.
