Leez Priory Essex Wedding Photography

On the first weekend in January and my first wedding in 2011, I photographed this wedding at Leez Priory (www.brideshead.co.uk/leez_main.html) near Chelmsford in Essex for Helen and Darren.

It was an extremely cold January’s morning when I arrived and the lake at Leez was still frozen.

After taking some detail shots of the venue I met up with the bride who was getting ready in the main house.

The boys weren’t far away as they were getting ready in the cottage also within the grounds of Leez Priory.

It was then time for the wedding ceremony which took place in the Coach House.

After the ceremony I took a quick aerial photo of all the guests before letting them go inside and warm up.

We did some small family group photographs outside, again ensuring it didn’t take too long as it was very cold indeed. I also captured lots of candid guest photographs in the lounge area. The couple were keen to have some photographs around the grounds at Leez Priory which is a great location for wedding photography.

After the meal there were the speeches, the cutting of the cake and of course the first dance.

I couldn’t resist asking the couple if they wanted some night lit photographs as Leez Priory is very nicely lit up at night.

I had a great time with Helen and Darren on their wedding day! Time for one last photograph before I left.

Reid Rooms Wedding Photography Essex

January 12, 2011 on 2:43 pm | In Wedding Features | No Comments

Just before Christmas I photographed this rather snowy wedding for Nicole and Tim which took place at the Reid Rooms in Margaret Roding, Essex (www.thereidrooms.co.uk).

After a heavy downpour of snow I wasn’t sure how the weather would be for the wedding. Luckily the snow had stopped and there was blue sky, so I had a good feeling about how the day might turn out.

I caught up with the bride who was getting ready in the cottage at the Reid Rooms and took some pre-wedding photographs.

The groom was in military dress for the occassion, which is a first for me, another box ticked.

It was time for the ceremony and the sun was beaming.

After the ceremony I took a very quick aerial group shot of all the guests before they went to warm up inside the barn.

The rest of the formal group shots took place indoors as it was a bit cold to ask the guests to go back outside.

The bride and groom however were definitely up for some outdoor shots in the snow which was great for me.

We then returned and it was just about time for the meal and speeches.

As you can see, the couple had a toastmaster on the day, Chris Webb (www.the-toast-master.com) who was amazing and extremely helpful during the indoor group photographs. I would certainly recommend him!

As you can see the couple had a sword to cut the cake with, before heading on to the dance floor!

As with most winter weddings we popped outside one more time for a couple of nightlit photographs.

I had a fantastic time with Nicole and Tim, the wintery conditions added to their special day.
