Blake Hall Wedding Photography
June 24, 2011 on 11:33 am | In Wedding Features | No CommentsLast weekend I photographed this wedding for Jennie and Peter which took place at Blake Hall (www.blakehall.co.uk) near Ongar in Essex where I photograph regularly as I am one of their preferred suppliers.

I arrived early and had Jo with me, a keen amateur photographer with me as she wanted to find out more about wedding photography. The weather forecast was for a showery day. I caught up with the bride who was getting ready in the old coach house. The couple were hoping they could have their ceremony outside in the Saddlery, but with showers every 20 minutes it didn’t look promising.

I then met with the groom and groomsmen. Austin the friendly manager at Blake Hall was doing his bit and helping the boys and guests with their flowers. The flowers were by Karen at Rose Blossom (www.roseblossom.co.uk).

I then returned to the bride who was almost finished having her hair done and it was time to put on the dress before heading to the ceremony.

A last minute decision to hold the ceremony in the Saddlery was a good one as the sun came out and showers stayed away for a while.

After the ceremony we went straight round to the gardens for the romantic shoot as the rain was imminent.

My white brollies came in handy, and after a brief shower I took the group photographs as well as lots of candid shots.

It was then time for the meal which was very nice too!

After the speeches I was onhand to take any portraits and family photos for the guests in between more showers.

The evening party started with the cutting of the cake and of course the first dance.

It was good experience for Jo to see how challenging a wet wedding can be and how you can get the best from those situations. I had a great time photographing Jennie and Peter’s wedding day!

Bobsleigh Hotel Wedding Photography Herts
June 22, 2011 on 11:21 am | In Wedding Features | No CommentsOn the first weekend in June I photographed this wedding for Natalie and James which took place at the Bobsleigh Hotel (www.macdonaldhotels.co.uk/bobsleigh/) near Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire.

I arrived at the Bobsleigh Hotel on a hot, sunny morning where both the groom and the bride were getting ready. There were lots of children as Bridesmaids and Page Boys which kept me quite busy.

After the ceremony I took the candid drinks reception photographs as well as some formal groups and also the romantic shoot.

I stumbled upon a great area at the end of the venue grounds which was all over grown and made the perfect backdrop for some photographs.

It was then time for the meal and of course the speeches!

As it was a sunny evening I was on hand to take portraits and family photographs outside after the meal and before the first dance.

It was then time for the cake cutting and the first dance.

I had a great time photographing Natalie and James’ special day and it was good to return to the Bobsleigh Hotel again.

Creeksea Place Wedding Photography Essex
June 15, 2011 on 6:00 pm | In Wedding Features | No CommentsAt the end of May I photographed this wedding for Laura and Ross which took place at Creeksea Place (www.creekseaplace.co.uk) near Burnham on Crouch in Essex.

I arrived at the venue in the morning where the bride was getting ready. I took some casual shots as well as some group photographs before we all headed on to the church.

The ceremony was taking place at All Saints Church Creeksea (www.allsaintscreeksea.org.uk) which is a 2 minute drive away. I met up with the groom for a couple of photographs and then it was time for the ceremony.

We then all made the short journey back to Creeksea Place for the drinks reception and group photographs.

After the speeches I took the couple for a romantic shoot down by the river.

I was also on hand to take guest portraits and family photographs before the first dance.

I had great fun with Laura and Ross, the weather stayed dry and it was a pleasure to return to Creeksea Place to shoot their wedding.
