Coopersale Wedding Photography

Last Saturday I photographed this wedding for Shelley and Matt which took place in the village of Coopersale Common near Epping in Essex. I used to work with Shelley at Kodak before setting up RT Weddings and was so pleased when she approached me to photograph her special day.

I arrived at the brides home to capture the pre-wedding moments. The make up was done by Laura Baker (www.makeupbylaurabaker.com).

I then popped over to St Alban’s Church (www.achurchnearyou.com/coopersale-st-alban/) in the village and met up with the groom. It wasn’t long before the bride arrived for the wedding ceremony.

During ceremony I had to remain at the back of the church, unfortunately wasn’t able to take my usual photographs of the couple’s expression, this is quite common with Church of England ceremonies.

We then returned back to the family home where the couple had a huge marquee and lots of entertainment for the children.

As it was quite a late ceremony it wasn’t long until the wedding meal and ofcourse the speeches.

As the couple had the wedding car all day (their lovely uncle was driving it) I managed to convince them to visit a location not far from their home for a special romantic photo shoot which would really add to their collection of photographs. We went to Tawney Common, a location I had looked at a couple of weeks before the wedding.

We got back to the party just in time to meet the evening guests.

The couple had a live band for the evenings entertainment called Dirty Rosco (www.dirtyrosco.com) who sounded great, and one of the grooms ushers was part of the band.

I had a great time photographing Shelley and Matt’s wedding and it was great to see some of my ex-collegues and also a couple of previous wedding customers too!

Potten End Wedding Photography

Last weekend I photographed this wedding for Catherine and Tim which took place at Carey Baptist Church, Hemel Hempstead (www.careybaptisthemel.org.uk) and Potten End Village Hall in Berkhamsted.

I arrived at the brides home in torrential rain and the forecast looked poor until late afternoon.

It was only a short drive to the church, but the rain continued.

As the ceremony finished I could see the skies had brightened so we headed outside for a couple of photographs.

We then made our way to Potten End Village Hall where the reception was taking place. The weather man had certainly got the forecast wrong as the sun was out and it was now quite warm too.

Potten End has a lovely common with trees and a pond which made it a great location for some photographs.

After the drinks reception it was then time for the meal and of course the speeches.

The sun was still shining after the meal and I noticed a great area to take some backlit shots.

We also had time to take photos of the bridal party which we were unable to do at the church because of the rain earlier in the day.

I was also on hand to capture portraits and family groups for the wedding guests.

The evenings entertainment was about to begin with the cutting of the wedding cake.

The couple also had a live guitar duo called “Acoustical” (www.functioncentral.co.uk/acts/acoustical_covers_duo/) who played their first dance and were really great!

I had a great time photographing Catherine and Tim’s special day!

Walkern Hall Wedding Photography

Last weekend I photographed this wedding for Jude and Damian which took place in St Mary’s Church in Welwyn (cms.welwyn.org.uk) and Walkern Hall (www.walkernhall.co.uk) near Stevenage.

I arrived at the bride’s family home to capture the getting ready shots and some family photographs in the garden before moving on to the church.

I met up with the groom and best man before capturing the brides arrival and the ceremony. You may recognise the bride’s brother from a previous blog as I photographed his wedding a couple of years ago too. I was working alongside videographers Mick and Julie from Ivory and Gold (www.ivoryandgold.com).

After the ceremony I captured lots of candid guest shots aswell as the confetti before we all headed to Walkern Hall for the reception.

Walkern Hall is a beautiful wedding location and has some fabulous grounds. The hall itself could be used as a backdrop and the reception was held in a marquee next to the drinks reception garden area. Kate, the lady who runs the venue was lovely and really accommodating both on the day of the wedding and on my pre-wedding visit.

After the romantic shoot it was time for the speeches, cake cutting and evening party.

I had a great time photographing Jude and Damian’s wedding and it was so lovely to see her family again as well as meeting Damian’s family.
