Gilwell Park Wedding Photography
August 14, 2011 on 6:19 pm | In Wedding Features | No CommentsLast weekend I photographed this wedding for Doreen and Nana which took place at Gilwell Park (www.towntocountry.co.uk/gilwell/) on the edge of Epping Forest near Chingford, London.

I arrived at the Bride’s home on the morning of the wedding to capture the getting ready photographs.

I then moved on to Holy Trinity Church in South Woodford (www.holytrinitysouthwoodford.org.uk) where I met up with the Groom.

Although I wasn’t allowed to be at the front of the church during the ceremony I did manage to capture photographs from the side. If you are planning to have a church wedding it is worth checking if they have any rules regarding photography as not to be disappointed.

We then took the journey to Gilwell Park. While we were waiting for all the guests to arrive we took some shots by the car and then went for a quick romantic shoot. I found a lovely natural wooded area next to the main path which gave a lovely shaded area, producing some beautiful soft light.

Once all the guests had arrived I then took some formal group shots starting with a big aerial group photograph.

It was then time for the wedding breakfast.

After the meal I asked the couple if they would like to continue their tour of Gilwell Park and have a few more romantic shots as the evening light was perfect.

It was then time for the cutting of the cake and the first dance.

I had a really fun day with Doreen and Nana!

Q Vardis Wedding Photography
August 4, 2011 on 2:58 pm | In Wedding Features | 2 CommentsOn Sunday I photographed this wedding for Dee and James which took place at Q Vardis (www.mallardsuite.co.uk) in Cowley near Uxbridge which is a lovely venue, with really friendly staff and a great location for wedding photographs!.

I arrived at the bride’s home on the morning of the wedding for the getting ready photographs. It looked like it would be another warm, sunny day! The make up was done by Allison Ismael (alisonismael@yahoo.co.uk) or call 07506 879 509.

After a short journey to Q Vardis, I met up with the groom for a couple of photographs before the ceremony. Q Vardis is an excellent wedding venue with a ceremony hall (the Mallard Suite) and a separate funtion hall in the main building. This is surrounded by a lovely garden area and a river running past.

After the ceremony I took lots of candid shots as well as the main group photographs. The location is very well contained and meant it was quite easy for photography and organisation.

We then went for a quick walk across the road to a footpath which runs along an area called Little Britain whilst the guests were seated.

We then headed back for the meal and speeches. The couple also had a close up magician, Ravi Mayar (www.ravimayar.com).

After the speeches I had a few more photographs to take which the couple had requested and then took them to the footpath for a couple more romantic shots as the evening sun was looking great.

The evening party began with the cutting of the cake followed by the first dance.

It was also great to see Beverley and Thaddeus were at the wedding, as I had photographed theirs the day before at Bushey Country Club. It’s great when word of mouth spreads!

After the traditional dance the bride then had a money dance, it was great fun!

I had an amazing weekend of weddings and really enjoyed my time with Dee and James!

Bushey Country Club Wedding Photography
August 4, 2011 on 11:52 am | In Wedding Features | 1 CommentOn Saturday I photographed this wedding for Beverley and Thaddeus which took place at Bushey Country Club (www.busheycountryclub.com) in Bushey near Watford.

I arrived at the brides home nice and early to capture the getting ready and pre-wedding photographs on a very hot and sunny day.

It was then time to go to St Andrew’s Church, Roxbourne (www.standrewsroxbourne.org.uk) in Harrow where the ceremony was taking place. I was working alongside MDR Video (www.mdrvideo.co.uk) who I have worked with before.

We then took the 25 minute drive to Bushey Country Club and because of the great weather we were able to use the garden area for the drinks reception and photographs. Bushey Country Club is surrounded by a lovely golf course and the garden area has the backdrop of Bushey House.

While we were waiting for all the guests to arrive it seemed like a good opportunity to take some romantic photographs with the couple.

Once everyone was there we then took the group photographs as well as lots of candid shots.

It was then time for the wedding meal and the speeches.

Janice and Steven had recommended me as I photographed their wedding back in 2008, it was lovely to see them again.

After the speeches I took the couple out for a couple more photographs as the evening sun was the perfect setting. With summer weddings this can be a great idea and really adds to the collection whilst the room is being turned around for the evening party.

The evening party began with the first dance.

I had an amazing time photographing Beverley and Thaddeus’ wedding day!
